Producer
The Producer will lead Product Development for a variety of online / social video games on web / console / mobile. The ideal candidate is an experienced, can-do person, with a broad understanding of game development and project management processes (including agile / scrum) and the overall social game / video games / interactive market. The role requires expertise and experience for the full cycle of developing and launching online social video games, must be a great team builder and leader, a strong executer, who is systematic and organized and can handle multiple projects at the same time with a large work load, sharing from experiences, and training and motivating project teams.
Responsibilities
- Head up Product Development operations for multiple projects and cross-functional teams encompassing Production, Design, Engineering, QA, Art, Sales / Marketing, Biz Dev, Legal - manage and motivate a team of artists, designers and engineers to accomplish their goals of producing mass market social games
- Responsible for project plans, scheduling / task assignments and completion of projects on time and at target quality
- Help assemble a strong, highly motivated and creative team
- Work closely with executive leadership to fulfill business objectives, ship product, and create strong relationships with various internal / external teams around the world as needed
- Refine and establish processes and routines to ensure that the organization can develop, prototype and deliver rapidly in the most efficient and streamlined manner, with high quality
- Establish efficient training systems and knowledge transfer systems for the studio, linked with all teams
- Hire, induct, and manage team members, freelancers and external studios as needed
- Develop and execute the distribution and monetization strategy, and help maintain and own the necessary partnerships to execute this
- Always be willing to try new things, prototype ideas, throw away bad product, listen to and give feedback, share ideas and contribute to the overall success of the company
- Effectively champion excellence in product development, particularly social games, to internal and external stakeholders
- Creatively solve problems related to product development for a wide variety of genres, titles, and resource budgets
- Work directly with product teams to improve projects in specified areas, while balancing resource, schedule, and quality needs
- Writing concise, readable production documents that embody total transparency into the product development process while creating templates / examples for the entire staff
- Effectively communicate solutions through a variety of means, from informal one-on-ones to detailed documents
- Work effectively with cross-functional teams to implement solutions
- Integrate easily into a variety of team structures and styles
- Provide expert design critique and analysis for specified areas of product development
- Effectively communicate critiques to teams
- Own projects from start to finish
- Coach, mentor, and train studio designers/producers in area of specialties through written documents, one-on-one meetings, and large group presentations
- Conduct design research and formally present findings in areas of specialty
- Educate and liaise with Engineering, Design, QA, Art, Marketing / Sales, Biz Dev, Legal and all other internal groups regarding product development
- Establish, communicate, and manage objectives to meet project schedules
- Lead inter-department communications as they relate to product development
- Take an active role in developing, maintaining, and refining a vision for projects
- Research, explore, and communicate best practices in product development and discern which competitive ideas are most effective; lead the development of goals, standards, processes and feedback mechanisms
- Develop/manage expense budgets, adjusting cost estimates on an ongoing basis
- Develop and provide continuous quality improvement on processes for planning, execution, approval and reporting
Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- 3+ years of professional experience including communication and project management skills
- College Degree from highly regarded/accredited institution, or respectable body of professional work/experience
- Solid experience in the entertainment and/or video game / interactive markets
- Demonstrable expertise in product development / management principles, documentation and tracking
- Effective communication skills across all levels of an organization
- Innovative creative problem solving
- Strong negotiation, mediation and conflict resolution skills
- Demonstrated ability to make compromises while maintaining target quality
- Solid understanding/philosophy of the realities of production from an art, tech, and design standpoint

- Experience managing multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines with a strong attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to direct and multi-task effectively under pressure, while balancing speed and quality of the work
- Applied conceptual strategy, brainstorm facilitation, day-to-day shepherding of a project to completion and team collaboration with stakeholders is required
- Proven ability to think conceptually and broadly about projects and the brand as a whole, and to develop and evolve creative systems
- Analyze real-time feedback and metrics, and adjust project plans accordingly
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to oversee the implementation of new features and systems
- Fluent in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) and familiarity Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash)
- Shipped titles and experience in social / mobile / web video games a major plus
- Passion for video games, virtual worlds and social networking
